People, Planet, Product, Partnership.

KapePur is dedicated to exploring the idea that each of us can change the world if we live in by simply changing the way we consume. They are committed to selling the finest coffee in the world as well as giving back to those communities that make it possible.

Greenhouse discovered an undiscovered brand as a part of our 2009 Brand Sprout competition.  We were fortunate to find this amazing product and initiative and help them unveil the power of a brand.  From identity to brand expression to packaging, we truly hope to help the KapePur founders succeed by giving back to them, and help them flourish on their true mission, giving back.

CHAPTER 2

the solution

Blank slate. We had an open canvas and full creative freedom…a designer’s dream, whoo! We had several brand discovery meetings and a very collaborative and open process in bringing this brand to life.  We tasted the coffee, learned about the people of Mindanao, got to know the founders personally and professionally, drank beers together and even got to know their friend the civet.  From there we started building…we needed to express elegance, sophistication, brilliance, richness, yet we most importantly needed real.  There was a real life story of lives being improved in a small part of the world by Earth Bee Foods importing 500 pounds of this rare and expensive coffee experience into the U.S. They are marketing to the affluent, all the while helping a small, impoverished village in the Philippines thrive.

POW!

Man, I loved thinking of how to make coffee look different. The chance to build such a bold brand was exciting and knowing that it was linked to a good cause really made it a passion project. I like coffee.

Giving back.

As one of our selections for the 2009 Brand Sprout competition, we couldn't resist helping this group. They have a high-end retail product, an incredible story, a philanthropic mission and are just great peeps.
